Thanks everyone, I will check out all your suggestions, it looks like they are the areas that I want to investigate.
Looking more at Enterprise networks, data centres and all that kind of fun stuff. My previous job I was isolated from any really deployment strategies, but at my current work I find I have a lot more involvement and figured that I need to have a fundamental understanding of networks.
