Anyway my advice is mostly to give a look at what Martin Odersky wrote about this debate: http://lamp.epfl.ch/~odersky/blogs/isscalacomplex.html I guess this could easily become the manifest of the Scala programmers. His arguments look quite similar to mine, but he presented them in a less complex and verbose (and somewhat more enjoyable) way.
