There may be bindings for multiple platforms, but it still represents
a rejection of the ways sanctioned by Sun in not being vanilla Java.

My point is that mandating a UI lib didn't really pan out except
making for ugly and slow applications. Take a look at a modern Ubuntu
installation, what do you find most of, desktop apps written in C# or
Java? How's the situation on Windows? But if you wan't to discuss this
further we should probably start a new thread. ;)
