My agreement with Joe here is that Android has established itself as
the future of mobile development for Java developers. It can't call
itself Java and it's not trying to. But if you're a Java developer and
you want to apply your Java skills in the mobile space why would you
look anywhere besides Android.

Yeah, it fractures the Java ecosystem, but it's an ecosystem that,
frankly, has been stalled for the last year or so. Pragmatically,
Google gave it a jumpstart. One of the most salient points in the
podcast to me was "Why didn't Google buy Sun?"
