anyone else updated their google maps app lately and notice that now the
search pane is pinned to the screen and can't be removed? Not sure what the
design decision was on that one, that on a device with an already small
screen, that a sizable chunk of it should be taken up with something that's
just a button press away (search, or menu->search) that can't be disabled
with an easy option?

I don't mind if they put it there by default for the grandma users, but for
the rest of us, please have an option to hide the darn thing!
