I attended JavaFX 2.0 session today and someone asked what to do if their company wanted to start a javafx project on Monday. No really good answer to that since fx script will be of no use once 2.0 arrives. The fx team said that fx script is open source and could be brought forward, but after evaluation Oracle decided that it would take too many hours to bring forward to the new API.
On the contrary, I like the idea of using JRuby, Jython, Groovy, or the like for developing with the new API.
