Eclipse doesn't run very well on Mac? That wasn't my experience. I took my macbook to work to do development on it daily until a few years ago. I never had trouble with Eclipse at the time. (Our windows desktop machines were p a t h e t i c.) Since then, I scrounged up a Linux box at work that now hosts most of my development. (The windows boxes we're given are truly debilitated.) Maybe things have changed for the worse for Eclipse on the Mac in the past 3 years.
