I'm really happy that we will be getting a new release of Java (relatively soon).
That said, there are some things that I wanted to see in Java 7 that have been delayed until 8, so does anyone else think that a Java 7.1 release would be a good idea? I'd like to see included... 1) Collection literals (so finish up project coin) 2) Date and Time API (JSR 310) 3) Annotation support (JSR 308) 4) Maybe a small subset of JSR 305, static analysis annotations (like @CheckReturnValue) 5) Throw in the Date picker 6) The Swing application framework 7) Perhaps some better integration with JavaFX 2.0 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
