Google has had a possibility to pick the GPL-licensed IceTea distribution and build on the top of that - GPL provides protection against the software patents that are now involved in the lawsuit. Who does not like that license and seeks something more proprietary always risks to get more than he wants. I am really not ready to fight and die for a company so careless. Java will be same as Microsoft for me when Microsoft will release they .NET under GPL.
