It's true that the plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence", but these
examples do seem typical of how the US is reported worldwide, enough that
they seem representative.

More disturbing is the suggestion that all this is unique to the USA,
corruption and the unjust influence of wealth is pretty much a global
phenomenon.  Possibly the only thing that the United States could reasonably
be singled out for in that list is their approach to healthcare.
