This argument is absurd. Kindle doesn't use Apple's bandwidth or marketing to sell books, only for the initial app download. That said, you do imply that content publishers probably shouldn't rely on such a capricious platform. Does a publication need an app, anyway? Just use the web. And in the case of multi-platform services like Netflix, why should Apple get 30% every month just because that's where you happened to sign up?
