When I attended Devoxx last November Oracle were running a 'register to win' competition. Trouble was, all of us who entered found that it was not possible to un-check the 'send me junk mail' check box.... Accident or design?
Can't say Oracle are doing themselves any favours here, Open Office and the various toolbars were bad enough. I guess McAfee wrote a big enough cheque. I'm automatically suspicious of any download that tries to 'sideload' something else at the same time, the chances are I don't want what's being pushed. And the number of times I go home at the weekend to find my kids have inadvertently installed McAfee... again... alongside Norton.
