By the Flying Spaghetti Monster's noodly appendages, say it isn't so. At least tell me that the "Java Loves You—Please Wait" message is still there ( http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items/2009/01/12.html ) Hopefully the increasing invisibility and irrelevance of Java to consumers should offset this sort of junk. I'm both a critic and advocate of the platform (I've been making my living off it), but I have hopes that changes in application delivery should make this approach to marketing obsolete. The Java platform is an intermediary most of the time; if an end-user is aware of it, I see that as a problem. Even Microsoft has been making the right noises with regards to dejunkifying PCs (see http://signature.microsoft.com/ - ironically, viewing the site kicks in a shedload of superfluous Silverlight animations). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
