The only advantage I could see is the ease of having a ridiculously fast system that is in the cloud. SSDs are the rage, imagine having it so that your build is running on a machine which has an even faster storage system.
That said, I do try and work on the train as well. The fact that I can't do reviews (with crucible) offline is annoying, to say the least.
