I am afraid this has already happened, at least locally. In my country we're dependent on the Java plugin due to a horribly designed mandatory SSO system (taxes, bank and other services). The many recent security issues have raised a lot of questions which made it into generic TV, radio and printed news (a little surreal to be standing at the counter of ones super-marked and read news about Java on the front page). In fact, politicians are now pushing for a revised solution which does not rely on the Java plugin and I can't say I am going to miss this dependency. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Java Posse" group.
