Hello Joe,
Do not install any jdk, as Andre said, it is already installed on
Leopard, and besides the one from Sun is not adapted to Mac OS X. By
default, the Java version activated on Leopard is version 5. To
activate version 6, go inside Applications/Utilities, launch Java
Preferences and put the version 6 on top of the list of prefered
versions.
