a bent left arm AND pulling in the right (throwing) arm is a torn ulnar nerve
and/or connective (elbow) tissue damage. almost without exception, young
throwers picking up the jav for the first time will bend their elbow to throw
much as a baseball pitcher does because the whip or straight-arm hurl is at
first unnatural. but, upon seeing the distances achieved with body torque as
opposed to arm strength, any jav competitor worth their salt will quickly
learn to change their technique. my experience suggests that tearing of
external obliques is orders of magnitude less frequent among dedicated
throwers than elbow aggravation or, worse yet, elbow blow-outs which happen
due to a lapse in technique.
most importantly, the above text is useless in comparison to an instructional
video or face-to-face coaching session.
