Hi Maria,
Here's a couple of things you can try.
1. Check your verbosity settings in Outlook Express, and make sure that it 
is set to labeled graphics.
2. Go to tools then options, and then the read tab, and check your settings 
there.

I use Outlook Express, and since installing JAWS 8, JAWS now says all my 
messages are unread, even after they are read.
I had this problem once before and was able to label the read graphic. 
However I can't find that graphic with the JAWS cursor.
What do I turn on to see that graphic?
