So basically it is okay to copy any of the files in the users file folder into 
the new version of JAWS user file folder?

Copy the .jdf file from the user files folder of the last version of JAWS 
you were using over to the user files folder in 8.0. Just don't copy any 
other files that are supplied as part of JAWS. If you have scripts or other 
files that are _not_ part of JAWS as shipped by FS, it's okay to copy those 
manually.

This is the first time the merge utility hasn't worked for me, but it's
definitely not working right.  So are you saying to copy only the JDF file
manually?  Is that the correct file?  Or are you saying that I have no
choice but to reenter all the changes again I made in the dictionary manager
for version 7.0?
