hi bob i don't think so what i think he is refering to is the serch box at the
top of the page in the windows live messenger program.

If I understand you correctly, the search you are referring to is a search within the program
looking to see if any of your contacts are online and then updating the status on all of them such as
"Offline", "Busy" or "Away from keyboard". It's just trying to locate the
people in your lists!
Is that what you are referring to?
