It doesn't matter. While those scripts are included, they don't work and
never have. You _can_ (as FS already has) assign keystrokes to change the
speech _rate_ and _pitch_, but you cannot change the volume on the fly. If
you assign keystrokes to the Increase and Decrease Volume scripts, you
_will_ hear the appropriate announcements, but that's all that happens. I do
not understand why these relics are still included--perhaps they work with a
few synthesizers, but they never worked with any synthesizer I ever used and
I go back to JAWS 3.50.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Keyboard Manager Question
Hey Guys,
While I was in the keyboard manager creating a hot key for muting JAWS, I
noticed that there was a
couple of things there that said "Decrease Voice Volume" and "Increase Voice
Volume." Does this
mean that I can create a hot key that will either turn the JAWS speaking
voice volume either up or
down? If so, how do I do it? By the way, this was in JAWS 7.0
See ya,
Scooter
