Well, what synthesizer are you using? That makes a difference to whether JAWS can speak, in some awkward situations.

Something possibly crashing Eloquence, then? My normal default synth is the Apollo 2 external synthesizer. It reads ok there with JAWS8.

I tried what you suggested. Now, jaws reads the page, and shuts up
completely. Can't get the links list to talk or any of the navigation
keys!
