When you do the say all command JAWS says" unknown function called to is magic running" I called FS and they told me to do the falling steps. 1. Go to programs on the start menu 2. Find JAWS 8.0 3. Go to explorer JAWS sub menu. 4. Then go to explorer my settings and press enter. 5. Then he told me to delete the .JSB and the .JSS source file and then restart jaws. Hi Bill, I too did the upgrade and I'm using windows xp. I did to get as far as trying with IE7 because what started happening is that the "say all" command went weird. It started telling something like "unknown function is magic running?" I don't even have a copy of magic in the same house, let alone installed on the computer. When I tried running a repair, I was told that some file was missing and so it could not be repaired. I had to end up uninstalling the whole thing and reinstalling the original jfw8 to get things back to normal. S not just 2000 pro is having challenges, but others too. I suggest people avoid this one for now until FS has heard all the problems. Hi, I tried to use the latest version of JAWS (8.0.1163) and found it screwed up in Internet Explorer 6 even worse than earlier versions of JAWS 8. I am one of the rare birds using Windows 2000 Professional so I'm not able to install IE 7 so am forced to remain with IE 6. Now when I open IE JAWS 8 (8.0.1163) tells me that all links have the same label as the first one it happens to land on when IE is opened. Even worse, if I shut down JAWS 8 and bring it back up again it doesn't say anything at all as I tab around a web page. If I resort to the JAWS Cursor I can tell that I'm positioned on links of differing labels. My point here is to advise those of you using Windows 2000 Professional that once again attempting to use JAWS 8 may not be an efficient use of your time -- not at this point any way!
