Hi Steve Without more details about your system (e.g. what country, what browser and version, what JAWS version, whether you are on broadband or dialup, what your web experience is like in other respects), it's difficult to make any suggestions. But I seem to be able to change settings in basic HTML view in Firefox 2.0. I'm not using JAWS, but I doubt JAWS is interfering with Gmail in this case.
