No, that didn't work because two of the synthesizers i use weren't there, so I'll have to go through the whole repair thing again. It looks as if when you do a repair, you need to add any synths you'll want to be available.
Ah well, so it goes. Then, tools, and synthesizer and braille manager. >From this dialogue you should be able to add the synthesizers you want. Now I don't have my DecTalk USB which I like very much, so I'll have to do another repair to get that back. Darn! They don't make it easy, do they! When I talked to FS support I was told to again download version Version 8.0.210 7 and run the setup. I was told that I would then be presented with a repair option. No way, the only choice I had was to go to add/remove and remove jaws 8. Then re-run the setup program. All previous versions gave me the repair option. I have version 8.0 and i wanted to update from the FS site. i was told to do a repair on JAWS since some file or files names had ben changed--i never changed a JAWS file. Anyway, i looked all over the place where i thought the repair would be and FS did it again, changed something. Ah well, maybe they're trying to keep us old JAWS users on our toes? thankks again, my friend. The setup program should start automatically, and inform you that Jaws is already installed, and then ask you what you want to do. This is where you will get the repair option. No, your mind didn't go blank, FS changed things a little. smile. I couldn't find it in utilities nor in tools. I couldn't do it under add/remove programs either. My mind must have gone blank not to be able to find this.
