I don't know how well this will work for you, but you might want to try it.
1 press ins+6, to start the configuration manager.
2. press shift+ctrl+d, to open the default configuration.
3. press alt+s, then s, to open synthesizer options.
4. Tab to Reset Frequency, It will be set at 2000, try numbers between 3000 and 
5000, start with 
3500.
5. Check Allow wave files with software synthesizers
6. tab to ok and press space.
7 press alt+f4 and answer yes to save changes.
