Hi: I should have been more specific, sorry. after going to folder options, you have to control tab to the view Paige. Now tab to files and folders and you will find a list of options you can arrow down and turn on or off with the space bar. Hit H until you come to hide extensions for known file types and make sure it is set to off. Then to set view for all files and to OK to close. I forgot to tell you that folder options is multi Paige. While in there check on the general Paige to see that use windows classic folders is selected and also on the view Paige in the list make sure Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items-is off as well as hide extensions for known file types. You can also turn on and off show hidden files and folders here as well.
