Right, I forgot about that fix; thanks. However I always install a fresh copy of a new version of jaws to avoid problems it can cause by installing over the older version. <smile> Sincerely, Terrill Reynolds ---------- Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Windows Messenger:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo:terrillreynolds AIM:terrill36 PH:(910)842-7701 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Griffiths, Steve" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2007 12:13 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] unknown function call

Problem: When you launch Outlook, Outlook Express, or Internet Explorer, you may hear a message regarding an unknown function being called - "IsMagicRunning." This affects earlier JAWS 8.0 Updates, which were available in the first quarter of 2007. Solution: List of 3 items 1. Navigate to and select the Start Menu, Programs, JAWS 8.0, Explore JAWS, Explore My Settings. 2. From within your User Settings folder, find and delete the following two files: default.jss default.jsb 3. After you delete these files, exit and re-launch JAWS. When I use say all command, I hear "unknown function call ismagicrunning". I hear the same thing when I open an e-mail in OE. Do you have ideas what to do cause it's very annoying. I tryed to find this function in the magic.jss file to disable it since I don't use this program, but couldn't find it. Also tryed to remove the related scripts from the shared settings folder but jaws complains so I restored them. When I Installed the new version I was asked if I should leave or remove the detected user settings, so I leaved them as they wer. Could this be the reason for the problem?
