If the material is broken into tracks, you can go forward by using the
control+F command, and go backward by the control+b. When the sound is
playing, use the control+p to pause, and hitting it a second time will
resume playing. This will avoid restarting at the beginning of the file
every time after you've used the control+s to stop.

If the podcast isn't separated into tracks, tab around until you hear a
slider control that reads a percent. If you're focused on that, right arrow
will jump you ahead, and left back. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to
adjust the increment for the jump, so you can move rather large distances
when often you'd rather go back just a little bit.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] how do you fast forward and rewind in windows media
player

Hi list, I am having a problem with windows media player. I am trying to
work out how to pause, fast forward and rewind when listening to something
with windows media player on my desktop. For example, I like to listen to
podcasts such as that on Blind Cool tech etc. I sometimes listen to these
several times, especially those which give instructional information I want
to follow. I did an incert H to look at the hot keys for the program. Using
alt S will stop the podcast. Alt P will start playing it again. However, it
starts from the start of the podcast. If I have already listened to the
podcast before, I may want to skip forward to the secttion I want. Using the
hotkey of alt F doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone know what I am
doing wrong? Being able to pause, fast forward and rewind, will be very
handy when trying to follow David's very helpfull tutorials. At moment, I
often use a hand recorder to do the job. I am using windows XP home, Jaws 8
Pro and windows media 10 I
think it is, but not sure.
thanks a lot
Jason
