I've looked at it even closer, and it appears that Javascript has nothing to do with this bug. I'm now thinking that the larger the web page, the more likely the bug will occur. I think what happens is that the buffer can only cope with so much before giving up. However, after a refresh, the buffer acts normally. Hope this will be fixed soon, as, I'm sure like many others, I'm getting frustrated.
