have you tryed killing it through task namager?
you can try preventing it from starting up with windows by going to
msconfig, and to the start up tab, and unchecking it. also, you can try
deleting it's entry in the start up folder, however, if it is giving you
this much problems, you should just try removing it all together.

playing around though, and I'm trying to decide whether to set up an AOL
account and use the AOL program or stick with Windows Mail?
