Tim, I think you missed the point here. Back up partner, get the sun out of your eyes and take another swipe at that varment. I own one of those keyboards and almost every single function operates without the introduction of the software package which is sold with every unit. If you load that software, the designer is going to assume you want to determine the purpose of every single key. That includes, by the way, all of the QWERTY keys as well as the function keys. It is a massive undertaking. Perhaps, with someone with your ability, not an impossible one. but, to be honest, I just don't have the time to re-program every single key on my wireless board. Let me assure you and anyone else who reads this, almost every function provided by the wireless board works exactly as the manufacturer intends. For example, there are several very useful keys which control the volume, play back and fast forward/rewind of any normal software player such as Real Player or Win Amp. There are other dedicated keys which move the user immediately to his internet provider or to his word processor. Once you learn which keys perform each function, they are indeed time saving and very useful. But time and time again, I have had to help people untangle their systems because they thought it was imperative to load the disk. I am familiar with Logitech and Microsoft wireless boards primarily. There are other brands and some of them are nothing short of a nightmare. Blue Tooth is a brand name and you don't necessarily have to buy a Blue Tooth keyboard to get a good wireless device. By the way Tim, in Pennsylvania at least, you can buy a decent wireless board with about 50 feet of range for about $50. In today's market, you'd have to pay that much for a hard wired board unless you purchased one of the ones that are available in stores like Office Max and Staples. They still carry, on occasion, IBM and Microsoft boards that are about $20. They don't last long unfortunately. However, I have a heavy hand, probably from playing the piano, so I tend to kill most boards eventually.
