Something is going on with Word 2000 and we have reproduced it now in our Test lab. We will be tasking a developer to work on this during the week and hope to have some improvements coming. The Object Model in Word has changed quite a bit since the Word 2000 release and it is a bit of a challenge to avoid breaking thinks in one version while improving them in newer versions. Regards, Eric

If you can find it and delete it, Word will rebuild it correctly. It should be about 26k in size. I had one once that was 250k. After I wiped it out, though, Word worked much better.
