Well it looks like I spoke too soon. Now word opens up seemingly fine but after closing it and then launching the program again and repeating the process issues still happen. That's good to hear, it just never crossed my mind that it was a jaws issue. Never the less I just deleted the normal.dot file and launched word without a glitch this time around.
