Hi David,

You're on the right track having downloaded Juice. You need to know that
juice is only the pod-catching program - you set options in it to have a
player, such as Winamp or windows media Player, or whichever, be the player
of choice. You can press alt-v to bring up the View menu, or you can hit
ctrl and tab to get to the various dialogues. To Add a New Feed, i.e., a
new podcast, you hit ctrl-n and type in (or paste) the url of the podcast
you want to add, and then tab to save, and then save. Hit ctrl-l to look at
the scheduling of when podcasts are to be downloaded. (To change the
frequency, you have two radiobuttons, for which you may need to use the JAWS
cursor. The default radiobutton is set to allow Juice to download every
eight hours. the other radiobutton allows the user to set the time
interval. In this second scenario, then you can up-arrow into the 'combo
box' for the time invtervals.) In the Directory Tab, you will find several
directories from which you can choose podcasts to subscribe to.
Regretttably, some of these directories have closed since Juice was current,
which is two years ago and more. . Also regrettably, Juice is not being
developed any more.

If you have Internet Explorer 7, you can also or instead use that to
subscribe to podcasts in the same way you use it to subscribe to RSS. And,
yes, the latest edition of the FSCast podcast (on the Freedom Scientific
Website) talks about ... RSS and podcasts using Internet Explorer 7 and
JAWS9.0. A good listen, I daresay, even if you don't have Internet Explorer
7.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Pod caster

I am trying to use a Pod caster.
I have downloaded Accessible Pod caster which works fine but seems very
limited in what it can do.

I have downloaded Juice and installed scripts. This appears to have many
more features but seems on the face of it inaccessible and extremely
difficult to use. I can tab to my list of feeds and even the individual pod
casts under the feed but finding a simple command to either play or download
the pod cast has defeated me after an hour of looking around. It is
certainly not an intuitive program to use with the keyboard. The scripts do
not appear to be indicating any keyboard sequences for me so there may be a
fault there but the installer claimed the scripts were successfully
installed.

Consulting the manual seems to indicate that you need to use a mouse to
execute crucial commands. Has anybody else got this program to work? Is
there a better and easier alternative?

Thanks for any help.

David Griffith
