I agree, the old versions were a bit strange in the way they handeled 
certain things, but I know for a fact that the later versions of Hal and 
Supernova are quite good as far as screen reading goes. But, I suppose that 
its just a perssonal preference, I used Supernova as my screen reader for 
many years successfully, however as I did not keep up to date with all of 
the upgrades, it became unusable with newer things like IE 7. However I have 
used the most up-to-date version, and it works just as well as any other 
screen reader, if not better in some areas. But, that's just my opinion.
