Hi,

Emptying the deleted items folder and deleting messages from the sent items
folder is a good idea.

However, moving messages from the inbox to another folder probably won't
help improve Outlook performance much. That is because if you simply move
items from the inbox to another folder, the items are still contained in the
same Outlook PST file. This is different when compared to Outlook Express
which uses different DBX files for each folder.

In Outlook, you may want to consider archiving some items which moves the
items from the outlook.pst file to the archive.pst file. You can choose all
items older than a specific date.

After you delete items from the sent items folder, archive older items and
empty the deleted items folder, you should then compact the outlook.pst file
that was outlined in a previous message.

I hope this helps,
Ryan

Have you cleaned out your deleted items folder lately? If not, do so. Do
you keep a lot of old messages in your Inbox? If so, set up folders and
move messages you want to keep into the folders. Have you cleaned out your
Sent items box recently? If not, move what ever you want to keep into
folders and delete the rest.

HTH,
Annette

Subject: [JAWS-Users] outlook sluggish problem

hello list,
i am using microsoft outlook 2003 with no add-ins.
well, let me clarify my self, i was using outlook 2003.
how ever, the main reason why i had to switch to outlook express is because
outlook will get so unresponsive to the point ware you need to debug jaws
and reload it.
this problem occures when i am checking my e-mails, and because i have over
80 a day, it just completely locks up.
it also happens when i send e-mails with over 1 meg attachments.
i was once sending a audio file explaining to my teacher why we couldn't use
WPA on the braillenote, and it completely locked up.

any help will be apriciated,
orhan.
