I select the file or files I want to select in the normal way in Explorer and then press the application key to select convert with switch from the context menu. If I want to select files that are not contiguous I use the control plus space method to select and deselect individual files in a folder. Remember that you have to keep the control button pressed down whilst cursoring down for this method to work.
Once that has been done everything appears fine. The only oddity I have found is that pressing enter on the convert button does not work but pressing the space bar does. I find a similar thing in AVG.
