Thanks. I guess I should be a bit more clear on my thinking. I was playing with CDEX the other day and found that I could not seem to access the rip function in the Winamp library after I had done so. I did not install ASPI drivers for CDEX, hoping it would work without them. It did not. I decided that maybe I had broken Winamp's ripping functions somehow and that I might as well play with an older version of the program while I was messing around. I then found the PC World article which piqued my interest. I downloaded the 2.95 version and tried to extract a track from a CD. I had to use the mouse movement commands to click the button and got an error about not being able to open the encoder or something like that. I then uninstalled CDEX and decided to try the current version of Winamp with the scripts for the library. I find that the library does work much better with the scripts installed. I am currently ripping some tracks from a CD, but oddly enough I still have to manually click the rip button. Pressing space or enter doesn't seem to activate it as it used to. Not sure what's going on there. Using Jaws 9. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rick Justice Sent: Thursday, January 17, 2008 2:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] What was the last really good version of Winamp?
Hi Jamie, I guess that would depend on your audio/video needs. For what I need and want to do, I have found 2.80 standard works great and can be found on the audio page at: www.blind-computing.com or, the programspage at: www.jaws-users.com HTH, Richard Q.
