Yes, that works great for XP also. Embedded reply follows: In Word 2003, if I get the list of comments up and press Enter on one, my focus goes to the start of a word. *Yes, that works great, and the edit and delete options are available from the context menu right where I land.
The comment signifier follows that word, preceding any punctuation. *Since you said that, I tried the alt-shift-' keystroke and it worked It seems like I have to make the list first, use it to move to the comment, and then things work- anywhere within the commented text. I still have one stubborn comment which can't be located with the alt-shift-' keystroke, but the others all worked. Like you, I can't get the PC cursor directly onto that comment signifier, but at any point in the word preceding the comment signifier, I can press Applications key and get a menu which includes Edit Comment and Delete Comment. If I choose Edit Comment, my focus jumps to the comment pane at the bottom of the screen; when I've finished editing it I can either press F6 to move to the document, leaving the comment pane on screen, or I can press Alt + Shift + C to close the comment pane and move to the document. *That one keystroke doesn't work for me, but escape does work. Is that any use to you? * Absolutely, yes! Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to reply. It is pretty cool that it actually works! I hear it between two sentences, but moving the cursor to each space and to the first letter of the next sentence yields nothing. I do see however, that the JAWS cursor picks up the comment and places parts of it at the end of the next several lines of text. The second command makes a nice little list, so I'm just wondering if I'm missing something about making the first one work. Thanks so very much for helping out on this. JAWS reads 'comment' when moving through the text, but I have been unable to locate how to read the text of the comment. I've tried JAWS help for Word and the Project Assist tutorial without success.
