Hi,
I can't answer all your questions about Braille displays but I use one
at work in combination with speech. I use it primarily to read to
people on the phone, and input information that needs to be specifically
entered in to certain boxes on the screen. It is critical when
inputting information to place the data in the correct space for the
computer program to except it as correct. I occasionally use the
buttons on the handy-tech star Braille 80 as a mouse click because it is
much quicker and more convenient. I don't use it as a separate
notetaker because for me it is not quick enough to switch modes while
dealing with the public. I look at the Braille display as a very
helpful addition to speech but rarely use it independently. Hope this
helps.
