Hi Ryan,

Strange! I have not experienced the problem that you are having after 
you waited for Jaws to stop speaking. In fact, when I usually open 
Excel, I only get the initializing message after I restart Jaws. 
Normally, Jaws just say "Microsoft Excel Book 1 Sheet 1". I wish that 
I have an answer for you, but I don't think that it is Jaws. I could 
be wrong though.
