I am using MS-Excel 2003 and started having this problem with JAWS 8.x, and
it continues with Version 9.x. Sometimes I just wait it out and everything
is just fine. Other times I have to Alt-Tab away from the Excel document
and back to it to resolve the problem. Other times I have to exit Excel and
start over.

I frequently run into a focus problem similar to this in Excel after I have
copied a number of different items. The Alt+Tab does the trick to fix the
problem.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Problems using Microsoft Excel with Jaws

Hi,

I am using Jaws version 9 with Microsoft Excel 2002 and I am encountering a
strange problem when opening Excel worksheets.

When I open a file either through Windows Explorer or from the open dialog
within Excel, I have the following problem.

I hear two Windows bong sounds, and then I hear Jaws say Microsoft Excel,
initialization dialog, gathering required information, OK button.

If I press the say word or say line command, nothing happens. If I press the
spacebar to accept the OK button, nothing happens. I cannot move around the
worksheet using the arrow keys or any other keys.

If I alt Tab to another window and then move back to the Excel worksheet,
everything reads fine and I can move around the worksheet normally.

Does anyone have an idea about what may be causing this behavior and what I
might need to do to correct it?

Thanks,

Ryan
