This is what a Verizon.net user was told by email. Verizon.net will no longer be used for email. To keep your Verizon.net email address, you'll need to switch to AOL. Curiously, Verizon doesn't mention in its notification that AOL is now owned by Verizon. Otherwise, they tell customers to create a Gmail or other account.
