I just spoke with a lady from Verizon since I have phone and internet from
them.

She did say that Verizon will no longer be handling email and that AOL will
be doing so. She said it was an automatic change and I didn't need to change
my email address so I could keep [email protected].

I asked if I could still send from this email address and also receive
emails from others if they use that email address and she said yes.

She asked me if I received an email from Verizon stating the changes and I
said no. She said they are sending them out to everyone so I should
eventually get one.

She also said if I sign into the webmail that a pop-up should come up and I
would need to fill out a form to make the changes. I went to my webmail and
no pop-up and I searched the page for something to click on to make changes
but there was nothing at all so I'm not sure what to do but wait for an
email because I think there are to be steps to do in the email to make
changes.

I'm not sure if it is automatic why to fill out a form and also I'm
receiving emails from companies I subscribe to stating if you are a Verizon
email user to change your email address because if automatic why change?

Oh and she said if you use Verizon internet but change your email to a gmail
account and I think yahoo, she said you could lose emails.

According to my research there are around 4.5 million of you out there,
maybe they are staggering this deployment. Either way I do not know for sure
other than a guy contacted me last evening to tell me Verizon was going out
of the email business.

This is news to me. I am a Verizon DSL customer and have not received any
notice of changes to email service.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] question regarding Verizon email service

I am getting questions from folks on Verizon about them changing something
or doing away with their email servicing for private customers. I am not on
that system so I have no personal information on this matter. If anybody out
there does please let me know what if anything is going to change along with
what the average person needs to do in order to continue receiving email.
