I uninstalled Java about three years ago after the U.S. government issued this warning. However, I since read that Oracle had fixed the security vulnerability and that the government withdrew its notice. Is this over-simplifying? Is there still a problem?

JAB is now incorporated into the download. JAB used to be a nightmare. Java is now produced by Oracle, which bought out its developer, Sun Micro.
