Hi, Glad it is resolved somehow. As for Windows 10 version: yes, you have an older version, with the latest release being version 1703. Cheers, Joseph

I should have tried this before, but my brain must have been on vacation. I removed my settings from JAWS 18--I shouldn't have allowed the migration from 17 to begin with--and reset things the way I like it. JAWS 18 is working normally. For kicks I went into JAWS 17 and tried to make sure the settings were exactly like the one I just did for JAWS 18 and still JAWS 17 had the problem. Later, I may play with it a little more, but for now I have to quit. The most likely culprit is probably the general settings in the keyboard manager, but with my little test, I can't prove it. By the Way my Windows info is: Version 1511 (OS build 10586.916) Thanks for your help! I really appreciate you giving this weir mess a try! But to make sure you're running the version you think you've got, can you try the following for me: 1. Open Start menu. 2. Type "winver" (without quotes) and press ENTER. 3. Note down the build number you got and reply to me with this information. In the meantime, I'll forward this query to a list that deals with Windows 10. Narrator worked correctly. When I would come to a menu with a submenu it would say "menu collapsed," and I could open, review the options and close it normally. So it does seem to be a JAWS issue. I looked through the setting center hoping to find something that might help and no luck! Do you have any other ideas? I see two choices at this point, I call VFO for JAWS help, or I try to solve my problem I have with updating windows, and get Windows 10 updated. Thanks for the help! If you can navigate back to a parent menu, chances are that it might be something to do with JAWS. Of course, ribbons seem to work fine. I called it Windows 10 2015 because I couldn't remember what the first version of windows 10 was called (smile) I have tried to update, but that is another story I am working on. But if updating would solve this problem, I will work harder on the story. It is really inconvenient not to be able to get out of submenus that you don't want to be within in the first place. Thanks! And you say you're running a 2015 release of Windows 10? The problem only happens in menus with submenus. When I am arrowing through a menu that has submenus, I get stuck in the submenu. I have a tough time getting out of the submenu and getting back to the main menu. For example, If I go to the JAWS 18 icon on my desktop and press enter, because the tandem item has a submenu it automatically opens and I see "allow access to my computer ." and if I arrow down I see "get access to a computer." If I arrow down again, I go back to "allow access to my computer ." I have tried both left arrow and backspace to get out of submenus, but they don't work. Escape just takes me out of the menu system altogether. (I feel like that 1969 song "You got me going in circles" by Friends of Distinction. Yikes! My age is showing.) I have looked on the Freedom Scientific site and tried googling for an answer, but this is a weird situation and difficult to describe for google. Any ideas? Do I have something set incorrectly in Windows 10? Do keyboards have drivers? I have looked on the Dell site for drivers with no luck. (My search on Dell site just shows me a ton of keyboards I could buy.) Any help will be greatly appreciated! Have fun!
