Try pressing JAWS key+v for the JAWS quick settings center, then arrowing down a few times to "Select and copy full content." (YOU can also get here by typing "virtual" in the edit field that appears on opening this center.) Press spacebar to change the setting to "Select and copy from virtual cursor" and tab to Okay. You will lose attributes, links, etc., but with this setting, JAWS almost always copies the text you've selected.
