As Adrian said, before opening JAWS 18 close JAWS 14; if you don't close
JAWS 14 first, the shortcut to JAWS 18 will only open the JAWS 14 context
menu.
Regarding management of the JAWS version which starts automatically in
Windows 7, the safest way to prevent version conflicts is using the Windows
Ease of Access Center, in which different JAWS versions are registered.

   1. Press WINDOWS+U to open the Ease of Access Center.
   2. Activate the Use the Computer without a Display link.
   3. Tab to the available check boxes and make sure to check JAWS 14 but
uncheck 18, and then press the OK button. This will let JAWS 14 to start
automatically instead of 18 after you log on into the current user account.
   4. To make JAWS 14 to start also in the Logon screen, activate the
Change Administrative Settings link and make the abobe mentioned change
there. For this last step to work, you'll need administrative privileges.

Hope it fixes your issue!
