I just installed it. Wondering if it will actually work now. I think this is
the third time I've tried to install this extension. It always sits in
firefox for a while and then spontaneously disappears. Now I've got Windows
10, so who knows?
Anyway I didn't have any problem installing from the open dialog box. Maybe
this is a bit too obvious, but are you sure your downloads are going into
the folder you think they are? I ask because Firefox remembers where you
last put a download, and will save in that folder unless you change it. I
actually had the same problem as you until I realised my girlfriend had been
using firefox and so the add-on file went into my pictures folder instead of
download. A quick way to check is to hit alt-j for the download library and
see what the "containing folder" is.

Mike, along with anyone else who might have an answer.

I've downloaded Webvisum and attempted to install it via the method
described on the Blind Bargains page. You're told to open Firefox, press
control-o for open, and then to navigate to the Webvisum file on your
system. However, Firefox is not finding it. I've placed the file in two
different folders, just in case, but I get the same result each time. Note
that I have "all files" selected in the Firefox open file dialog, and I have
file extensions set to show in Windows Explorer.

For example, I have numerous files in a folder I call "Accessible programs."
When I browse with Firefox's open file dialog, only two are picked up,
neither of them the Webvisum extension.

Any ideas?

Hi Net bat & Adrian,

The signed version must be installed, which you can downloaded from the
following Blind Bargains page, which also contains installation
instructions:

you can use the version 52 e s r version.; this is the business version and
usually will not upgrade for a full year. instead of every 6 weeks.
while still recieveing all the security updates.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/?q=us

i got this upgrade this month so you would be able to use it unt next june
and the updated webvisum 9.5 i think will still work for another year.
this webvisum is a modified signed version but i don't have the web page
to download it.

It won't work anymore with the newer Firefoxes, I think from version 53 on.

Webvisum hasn't done anything with their plug-in in at least three years.
That's ashame.

You need to pay for captcha solving via a couple other options.

Try CaptchaBeGone.com or Rumola.com. Rumola works with Firefox and Google
Chrome.

As I mentioned on this topic several months ago, I thought this would be a
great thing for Jaws to try to support, but Mr. Damry wasn't interested.

Fortunately, there are only a few websites that don't have accessible
captcha solution alternatives.
